Welcome to Tallawah Yoga

Where you embrace the strength in your journey

About  Tallawah

Tallawah is a Jamaican patois word loosely translated as "strong and powerful in spite of".

Tallawah Yoga provides online classes and private individual /group sessions to explore yoga as a tool to stretch and strengthen the body, while steadying the mind.

Founded by Kerine Grossett, Tallawah Yoga was created to infuse her West Indian roots with the practice of yoga to form a dance of breath and movement that allows the practitioner to still the mind, tune into their inner strength, and feel good in their body.

She was introduced to yoga via a Rutgers University recreational class in 2006, where she discovered the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of the practice. Since then she has continued her personal practice throughout various points in her life including her pregnancies and postnatal journey. Wanting to share what she has encountered through her experiences she became a 200hr RYT in 2020. In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic and unrest due to social injustice, it was evident that there is a need for healing, self care, and wellness. Acknowledging that yoga is one of those modalities, and wanting to make it even more accessible for all types of bodies, Tallawah Yoga was born.

It is our hope that the practice of yoga will help you to calm, stretch, and strengthen the body and mind; and more importantly "tune in". In introspection there is stillness, there is healing, peace, and growth.

Tallawah Yoga is a space and community where we find ways to feel good in our bodies and  celebrate the strength in our own journeys, for the journey is much greater than the destination.
